Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all my dearest friends and family members. May the year 2009 be a great year for all of us..... i hope.

The recession has not really affected us yet. But it will, in 2009 be not 2010.

But lets not like this affect this wonderful festive season.

The year 2008 has been a fruitful year for me for a number of reasons.

Firstly, I did my LASIK which changed my life quite abit. No more blur vision. Everything I see at anytime is perfectly clear. LASIK is indeed wonderful. 3k for the op is 1oo% worthwhile.

Secondly, I got my advance diver cert. So more dives to come for me.

Thirdly, got my new mobile phone, Samsung Omnia.

Forth, got my pair of inline skates, but I hardly skate now.

Fifth, got my snorkel mask and fins. These will come in handly for my next dives.

Well, there are more happenings lah, but cant seems to remember what. haaa... Maybe old liao, thats y cant recall already.

Anyway 3 wishes or goals for this year have to be carry forward to next year I guess.

1) Scuba dive at Rendang (season closed now, aiming to go next year April)

2) Girlfriend (leave this to fate I guess)

3) Better job (unknown due to current market, maybe later half of next year or 2010?)


So what other goals for next year? Haven really think about it yet.... I post it up when I think of some. =)

I won tallest person, best dress, best table and 5th prize in last night's DnD.
But I lost the chance to watch Andy Lau fantastic concert.

Just my luck lah. Who tell me dun go find out when my bank's Dnd first before buying the ticket. Haaa...

Anyway the DnD was very fun. In fact it was the best out of the four DnDs that I went.

We won the best table becoz all of us dressed up in one way or another. Some rent costumes like me, others come in retro dressing and makeups. Prize was a Ipod shuffle look-alike. Those china one i think. haha I nvr take the prize though.

Then I won the tallest person, needless to say. Not many people is as tall as me. haaa. Prize dun need to mention lah. Some lousy pencil and pen. Pen no ink some more.

Then I won the male best dress.... and it comes with a prize to pay. My reputation. 200+ pairs of eyes saw the crazy side of me last night. Omg. What I won was $80 dollars Marina Sq shopping vouchers.

Then finally in the final part of the lucky draw, I won the 5th prize which is a Sony DVD Camrecorder, more known as Sony ViewCam.

I read on the forum about the critics of Andy Lau's concert...... Everyone was giving thumbs up for the concert. "The singing and the effects were good" was what most people commented.

I dun really have any regrets lah. I just believed that we dun always have the best of everything. But the truth is I had great fun last nite.. Haaa...

wow, close to a mth nvr blog liao. nvr hear much complains from the tagboards shows how little readers i have, or maybe my readers are bz also? haaa

Anyway, its had been a bz mth for me. got a project release. work until quite late everyday to support.

then attended two wedding liao. one more tmr evening.

come to think of it, for this mth, i was either at home, at work, or at frd's wedding. haaa.

also, i have sold my andy lau ticket. i love to watch the concert, but i wanted to go to my bank's dnd also. this year my colleagues very on, all go rent costumes mah. so i tot it will be quite happening lor.

then the andy lau concert i not sitting with may, but sitting alone. at first i tot watching concert might feel like watching movie. but i realise movie, in the cinema is all dark and cannot tok, so watch alone is ok.

but concert, is nice to have people around and talk and sing along together. and go crazy together.

so......... in the end i try to sell my ticket thru:
1) e-bay
2) thru friends
3) msn's personalised message
4) facebook.

guess which one is the most effectively?

FACEBOOK!!! i tried to auction my ticket on e-bay, but i relist my items 2 times and still nobody bidded. i guess single ticket nobody will want lah.

but just few hours after i put it on my facebook status, somebody was interested in my ticket. I was quite lucky lor. the buyer was surprised when i told him i dunno any1 around sitting around the seat. haaa

i guess next time i wont go buy a single ticket again.

Calvin & Rachel Wedding

Just came back from Calvin & Rachel Wedding dinner. Congrats to both of you, wishing you both a blissful and everlasting marriage.

Finally....

Finally, the problem with my auntie's PC was resolved. I went back to sim lim to get the board exchanged for the correct one, double confirm with the man about the DDR1 ram, bought 1 stick of DDR1 ram. Also bought thermal paste for the replace the worn out paste between the CPU fan and the CPU.

Did a little of window shopping here and there also. I keep looking at this D-link draft-n router DIR-655, wondering if I should buy anot. My current router still working leh. and I dun play much online games nowadays also....

Maybe wait til the computer fair to see if there are any better offers mah.

Feeling very angry and lousy

Im feeling very angry and lousy at this point of time. Why? Becoz of my auntie's PC, my lousiness and my "suayness".

AT THIS POINT OF TIME, IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO HEAR SOME STUPID CRAP FROM ME, JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. IF NOT THEN READ ON AND DONT BLAME ME AFTER TAT.

Why my auntie's PC? Coz tat time she asked me what PC to buy. I offered to help her to assemble one PC instead. And now the PC died.

Why lousy? Coz I really sucks at troubleshooting PC problems. This is not the 1st time. Why did i offer to help people to fix PC in the 1st place? These PCs always fail with unknown reasons. For the case of my auntie's PC, when my auntie copy some fotos around in her local drive the PC will restart or show the BSOD (blue screen of death). After hours of troubleshooting, still in vain. So I make some wild guess that maybe the RAM is spoilt. So I went to buy new RAM. Previously was only 512mb. So I bought 2 x 1gb. Then when I fix in the new RAM. Same thing happen! and worse still after a while, the PC cant start up at all. Just no display sent to the monitor. Nothing is moving except for the fans. All these time I was at my auntie house. So I tot this might take more time and effort, so I brought the PC home. After hours of troubleshooting, still the same.

Anyway to cut the story short, i tot about the suayness that I had recently. I went to sim lim to see if I can get 2nd hand of the same motherboard tat my auntie's PC is having. The person at the 2nd hand store told me might be becoz not enough power from the power supply. But not be the mother board problem. OK then I went home empty handed. Try at home with another power supply. Same problem lor. Ok never mind, I went to sim lim again, then I bought a brand new motherboard tat I found 1 shop selling. There was 2 version. The 775 or 478 version. I guess that 775 was the right one so I bought the board home. Then few days later when i decided to fix up the PC, then i realised, shit, the processor is the 478 version. So again I went to sim lim after work to go exchange for a 478 version. Then last night when I wanted to fix up the PC, i found 2 problems. The back panel of the board does not fit the back plate tat was provided with the motherboard. Wad the f***. They gave me a wrong back plate!!!! To make the things worse, the stupid board cannot use the 2 pieces of 1gb ram tat i bought earlier. f***ing hell. Wad kind of stupid board is this. New board with old ram technolody??? This board uses DDR1 ram instead of DDR2. You see how absurd anot. Then nevermind, I went back to sim lim today just with the back plate. I intended to just exchange the back plate and get some stupid DDR1 ram. Then the man told me I was having the correct plate. Start telling me about alignment of the board and other crap. I told him cannot be lor. Then he showed me some PCs tat he is fixing up with the board tat i bought. The back plate is exactly the same as the one that I am holding. and holly shit did i realised the model of the board that I had at home now is different from what the box of the package describe on the outside. I double confirm by calling my brother to check for me. f***ing piece of shit, they gave me a wrong board in the box that I exchange for. The man ask me to bring the board back.

I feel like kena bang on wall thousands over times all over. How suay can I get. I really feel like shit.

I tell myself that after this time, I not going to offer any help to troubleshoot or fix anybody PCs anymore. Unless is my own.

I tot i was ok with this kind of things, but end up, in actual fact I just like a stupid dummy. Maybe I should buy a PC troubleshoot for Dummies at the bookshop.

Enough said. My weekend is spoilt totally. I'm still thinking whether I should go back to sim lim tomolo or not. Or just f*** it.

Celebrating my mother birthday

Just now had lunch at Himawari Japanese Restaurant at Mount Faber Safra. The food is not bad. Price is ok also. Had a-la carte buffet. $34.80++ per pax. Then I got a 10% discount coupon from the dolce magazine. Hard to tell you what we had coz we ate alot. haaa.

Anyway initially wanted to go to a vegetarian restaurant, but my dad strongly objected. He said he won't go if we go. Haaa, my dad hate veges. I was going home last thursday when those dolce people hand out the mag to my colleague and me. Then I showed it to my mother on the same night and asked her what she want to eat. Then she flipped and saw this Jap restaurant. So I made the booking on Friday for 9. My family, plus my sis-in-law and 2 aunties.

Jialat, really eat a lot recently. Become fat already seriously. Can feel my office pants getting tighter. Oh dear.

November liao, no PH this month so boring. Got one wedding this month. 2 wedding next mth. Haaaaaa.... Going to be broke.

Did I mention last month 18th Oct, my friend borrowed my dad's car to be as wedding car. So I was the wedding car driver lah. So automatically i was one of the brothers also lor. The night before, went to wash car then went to the bridal shop to "dress up" the car. Then I drove home to park. This was the first time I drove a wedding car and I parked the car in my house's carpark. When my dad and mum saw the car, they again popped the question "So many of your friends getting married, when is your turn?". Did i mention my mum asked me to join those SDU events? Hmmm .... ok back to the wedding. Chee Yong was my course mate back in Air Force School. He married his gf Irene in the beautiful chapel in Singapore Arts Museum. The wedding was in the afternoon, so everything was over around 3++. Then I drove the newly wed couple back home around 5+ i think.

So its many wedding in a row. Oct, Nov & Dec. Got a few wedding scheduled for next year already also. haa...

Dinner @ Shokudo Japanese Food Bazaar (Raffles City)

Just now had dinner at Shokudo Japanese Food Bazaar @ Raffles City with Phyllis, Jasmine & Ling Fang. The restaurant style is like Marche except that this one serves mostly jap food. Not bad lah, but a bit ex i think.

After dinner, had some drinks and shared a cheesecake at Gloria Jean. And some catching up.

Haven seen Ling Fang for many years, ever since we graduated from poly. Hmm like 6 to 7 years i think. She still looks the same... Glad we still can keep in touch.

Sianz weekend

Siazz... tmr i be driving up to my dad's house in KL with my dad, mum, auntie and maid. How I wish the house was just in Johor?

Now that my bad tempered dad has retired, I really dunno how leh. Hope he can really find something to do.

Other than cooking and throwing his temper around.

Today's my birthday. Its a Monday. Still have to wake up to go to work. Urgh!!!!

No plans at first. Plan to just go home after work. But end up go to k songs again. This time is at partyworld@safra yishun.

Ok lah, lesser people than yesterday, so can sing more songs. Then can also sing those songs that I got no chance to sing yesterday. Haaa....

That's all. 27 years old. Time really flies...

Birthday Celebration

Went to "The Line" at Shangri-La hotel with my family to have buffet lunch to celebrate my birthday in advance. The food there is not bad, especially the crab and oysters. The range of food is quite good. The food all taste nice in average. But the price is not cheap. 90++ per person. We pay like 640 bucks for 7 person. That was after 15% UOB credit card discount. Anyway I always have a problem after buffets - bloated stomach!!!!! I always tend to overeat when comes to buffet. Especially one that has so many nice nice food to eat. Hahaha

Anyway we left for home around 2pm++.

Then after that, I met my sec sch friends at causepoint for dinner. I couldnt eat much coz stomach still very full. We went to tian xiao er. The food there so so only lah. Anyway after that we went to party world@civic plaza to k songs. My friends bought a cake for me also. Ice cream one. Very hard to cut, but very nice to eat.. heeee.....

Demoralised.

Initially, planned to go Rendang for diving. Then season closed liao. So only next year then can go.

Initially, I was looking forward to my 1st perm staff bonus from my bank, from the lehman bros issue and the oncoming singapore recession, i reckon there wont be much of the bonus tat i will get.

Wad lehman bros' issue? My bank was one of the major lenders. One word to describe the plight that my bank is in. Suay.

So nothing to look forward really.

Just now I was reading an article on Yahoo News. "Stocks crash, but where did the money go?" So where did the money go? There was no money in the first place. Stocks go up or down due to people's mind. Meaning, if people think today the price this stock will rise, it rises. Vice versa, it falls.

Don't you think its very stupid, if you think about it. We are all in this plight now becoz we think we are. I think the gods up there are laughing til their stomach aches. Wad the hell these humans doing? Torturing themselves? Humans are working their asses off becoz of the tots of some people who think the stock will go up or go down.

Now people who invested their lifetime savings are all at loss. Dunno wad to do liao. Money all gone.

Damn. Really demoralizing when you come to think about it. All your effort and time spent on your job, then now you won't get what you deserved becoz the market is down now....

And to make things worst, 22% increased in electricity, and increasing transport fares.

As though like back to the poly days. But the only difference is the hangover period seems like harder to get over. I was thinking, is it due to the quantity of the drinks (meaning I drink more than last time), or age (poly days was like 10 years ago).

I think age is a major factor. I cant deny the fact that turning 27 in 3 weeks time. Last twenties liao. Not young any more.

Then last tuesday night, when prawning with my colleagues at bishan. For 3 hours, I think I caught about 4 or 5 prawns haaaa.. So little leh. Then we bbq the prawns, but the meat very little only, not so nice actually. haa....

Secret Mission Outcome and Singapore GP

The outcome of secret mission is..... wrong mission. Haha... I think the event is open age group one. Got some ladies I think got 10 years older than me one. Then (i think) i am one of the younger guys there. Haa... So I think those specific age group events are more suitable lah.... But still haven overcome the shyness nature of mine. Wahaha...

Anyway, the singapore gp formula one was superb, i tell you. Never have i been so close-up to the racing cars. And i tell you, these f1 drivers are fantastic man. Look at the speed they are driving. crazy man. I think sgp is really a success. quite drama also, especially for the Ferrari team. Stupid mistake at the pit cause massa to drop from 1st to last. Took a few pictures and video. Turn up your speakers to experience the super loud sound made by these cars. Wear ear plug still very loud lor.

Alonso was the winner for Renault. Followed by Rosberg for Williams and Hamilton third for McLaren. Kimi from Ferrari was damn suay lor. He was in the last few laps when he crashed into the barrier. He was third at that time. And Hamilton was fourth. Too bad for Ferrari. A bad weekend for them in Singapore.

Home sweet home

At last, I'm back home. I was sleeping over at my uncle place at admiralty for the past 3 nights. Why? Becoz my uncle just moved house. Apparently, the previous owner owe some loan shark money. So they went around drawing those O$ P$ wordings. Some neighbours called the police. And my uncle filed a report with the police.

Then my uncle needed to go overseas from monday to thursday. so he say if i can help by staying over at their place. my mum say help, then i ok lor. haaa...

Anyway I last min gotta Formula walkabout ticket for sunday, thx to Sheue Lih.

Hurray I going to the first night F1 race!!!!

So this weekend quite happening ah.

Sat evening: secret mission follow by dinner at vivocity with rachel and friends.
sun noon onwards: Marina bay formula one!!!! Hope it wont rain. Stay tuned for pictures after the race. =)

Just now Phyllis told me on msn that my wishlist for 2008 is getting shorter. Haa... Then ask me how about item no.2 - A girlfriend.

Well, in fact I working on it now, thanks to some pressure for my mum. I be on a secret mission this Saturday afternoon... Haaaa...

Dun ask me what mission ah. Its a secret.... except for phyllis lah, coz i told her just now. Dun tell anyone ah.

Today is mid-autumn fest. Went to KPE Swing run with Jasmine & her husband Eben. There was a lot of people there and we were given a battery operated lantern. Suppose to hold it and run or walk in the tunnel.

Then not much liao for the rest of the day. Just went to Safra Yishun for a swim, then the rest of the day nuai at home

Just came back from my uni friend, Rachel's ROM. So happy to see her and Calvin tie the knot. Went earlier today to help her deco the venue which was one of the function rooms of her parents' place.

Collected KPE Swing Fun Run Tee and Bib + New Samsung Bluetooth Earpiece

Just now went to Suntec Square to collect my KPE Swing Tee and bib. I will be running 5km on the 14th in the new KPE tunnel. Its the first one-of-the-kind run here in Singapore and most importantly, its FREE!!! haaa....

Then while I was there I bought a new things:
1) 3m USB cable
2) Car phone holder
3) Samsung bluetooth earpiece.

Needed the 3m USB cable because I shifted my home pc to another corner of the table and the wifi reception sux big time. So to resolve this, I positioned my USB wireless network adapter back to the original location. Problem solved!

Car phone holder is to hold the phone in the car lor... haaa..

Back from KL and dinner with Bel

Went up to my dad's place last Sunday and came back this afternoon. Went up to Genting Highlands on Monday, stayed 1 night and came down the next day. On the way up to Genting, I tried out the GPS on my Omnia. Worked well and up to my expectation. The route planner accurately drew out the route all the way along the winding roads up to Genting Highlands. Cool, isn't it. Next time can try driving up myself. haaa.

Anyway I "deposited" RM 600.00 in "Genting Bank". Bua Tahan, always deposit, never withdrawn one. Wahaha...
