6/6 eyesight

Just came back from LSC. Got my 6/6 eyesight. Asti should be zero coz i see the lines of the circle all clear for both eyes. But... I feel my left eye still sharper than my right. Right eye still 6/6 though, since I can read the letters at 6/6 size.

So technology does make a different. Wavefront vs standard. Either that, or my right eye is recovering slower?

But anyhow, I happy with the results. hee...

Happy birthday buddy!!!

Today is my buddy Liting's birthday. Want to wish her a very very happy birthday! Soon she will be back from states with her husband ck and cute little daughter Cherilyn. Next month to be exact. Can't wait to see her again and little Cherilyn as well.

Today is the 8th day after my lasik. Eyes feeling much better but get tired very easily, especially at night. In fact I feel my eyes closing now. Maybe I see too much computer screens liao. During the day in office, and now at night at home. And the redness in my eyes is still there. Dr Tay say 1 to 2 weeks. 1 week liao, still red. Dunno when then will ok.

And this few days also sleep earlier, coz head feels heavy and a bit of ache especially at night. Think is the brain trying to get used to the new corrected eyesight.

Anyway its time to say goodbye to my specs, contact lens, contact lens container and contact lens solution. Bye bye, thanks for your help these years, but I won't miss you guys. Haha.

Last gathering

Goodbye for good

1st Review

This morning, woke up in a bright and "quite clear" world. Its been a long time since I had this feeling. The previous time was when I forgot to take out my contact lens and went to sleep after a long nite. haaa...

Had my 1st review this afternoon. Appointment time was 12.45pm, but I came around 1pm. I saw my doctor in the lift so I thought I arrived just in time. My colleague came earlier so she went in first. Then she left. She told she arrived about 10 mins before me, so I thought I would be able to see the doctor in 10 mins time.

But.... after waiting for 15mins or so, the doctor walked towards the operating theatre. I was thinking, damn. Was he going to laser some people eyes or what?

After a good half an hour, then he came back. In the end, I went in to see the doctor around 2.15pm. Wah piaz.... This is why I hate to see doctors. I simply hate the waiting time.

Anyway the doctor took out the contact lens from my eyes, and shone some light into my eyes. He said my eyes are doing fine. But there are some redness in my eyes, say will go away in 1 to 2 weeks time.

He also said a few NOs to me.

1. No rubbing, squeezing eyes for first week
2. No going to dusty area for first week
3. No swimming for 1 month
4. No contact sports for 1 month.

On the other hand, he said I could continue with my normal life. No gym, no swimming how to consider normal life?

Next review is 2 weeks from now. Anyway now got to wear shades when outdoors. The sun is simply too glaring for me.

LASIK, at last

Its May Day! I reached LSC around 9.45a.m. and was led to the waiting room. My colleague was already there. She was earlier than me. Our appointment time was 10am.

Before us was 1 or 2 other patients I think. After a while, we were led to a corner where we put our stuff away and put on our surgery gown, cap and mask. Then comes the finale waiting, which seemed like hours. (but actually a few mins lah). I was feeling a bit nervous already. I think my colleague also.

My colleague went in before me. After a while after she left, I was led to another operating theatre. I was asked to lie down on the surgery chair. There the surgery assistant briefed me on what was going to happen. They would be creating the flaps on my eyes in in that theatre and then I would have to walk to the other theatre where my colleague was at that moment to laser the eyes.

Just a few seconds later after I lie on the chair and numbing drops dropped in my eyes, the doctor came in and started to get ready for the first part of my surgery.

The doctor cleaned my eyes with something, then placed a ring over my right eye. Then down came the machine and pressed directly on the ring. Then I was asked to look at the blinking lights for 25 seconds. Then the machine was lifted up. The same steps were repeated for my left eye. My vision was quite blurry after the flaps were created.

I was led to the theatre next door. This time the doctor used some pincers to lift my flaps, then 30 seconds of laser for each eye. Then the flaps were replaced. Each eye was inserted with a zero degree contact len to protect the eye. After the lasik, my vision was cloudy. Couldn't see much. Its like not wearing specs and walking in a mist. After resting for about half an hour in the resting corner, I collected my stuff, and home sweet home. My colleague's husband very nice, sent me all the way home.
