Time seems to pass really fast this week. Not exactly the best mood to work, but what to do? My team leader only turned up 1 or 2 days because he was clearing his leave. 21 days of leave a year, but he took only a few. So he had to clear before the the fy which will end at the end of the month.
People like me, contract staff. We had zero balance of leaves. Had to wait for April to come before we have leave again. Damn miserable right.
On the other hand, my project deadline is next wednesday. Guess what, I have a team mate whom I doubt had even started doing anything to help yet. All she knows how to do it turn up one of the days and say "let me copy the latest source" and luff luff luff... Lucky in our team there is one who knows how to do. But he is a little "xiao chong ming". So he tends to be impatient with what the lecturers teach and want to do somthing else.

may i present my new wife...
Yesterday I decided that my present wife is no good liao. So I went to get a new wife. Not from china nor vietam but from........ SIM LIM SQUARE.
Show you my chio chio wife pictures.

Don't play play. My new wife's brain is C2D ok. C2D stands for Core 2 Duo, meaning 2 cpu cores in one.
Here the full specs of my new wife:
- Intel Pentium 4 C2D E6600 @ 2.4Ghz, 2.4Ghz
- Kingston 2GB RAM running in dual channel mode
- Western Digital 250GB SATA-II Hard disk
- MSI Neo Platium P965 Motherboard
- XPV GeForce 7900GS Videocard
- LG 19" L1952T LCD Monitor
Plus a few more things like PSU, Casing, Keyboard, mouse and Wifi-adapter all more S$2160. Quite a good price for such a "smart" wife right.
So far, I played a few games, the performance is not bad. System response time is good. Well, all new PCs are fast coz it's empty mah. Hence the actual performance can only be determined when the system is a few months old and with lots of junk inside!!!
I wanted to get a new system for a long time already. Actually I stated in my 2007 wishlist that I wanted to find a gf. Since I reckon I wouldn't be able to find one so soon, I get myself a wife 1st. hahaha... crazy..
Anyway went to NTUC xtra to walk walk ALONE.... and bought a book shelf back. Assemble already and, oh man, looks good, doesn't it.

Ok, got to get back to my J2EE project. Due date 28th March which is very soon. Go, go, go!!!!

Thumbs up to this "Power" driver
Suppose to meet my project mates at ISS yesterday evening for a project meeting. Who knows the shuttle bus to ISS broke down. So we decided to stay put at Clementi. Was having dinner at a coffee shop in Clementi central when we heard a loud bang sound. Guess what we saw?

power right? P-plate somemore. License sure kena revoke. Dunno how he pass his TP one.
The car plate is 4562, just in case anyone interested to buy 4D. I bought already =)
Congrats Patrice and Abelle!!!!!
Wed 7th March 2007, my dearest friend Abelle, decided to tie the knot with her French boyfriend. I was their driver, nanny and best man. Where to find another "great" guy like me? Haha.
That morning, picked up Kev and May before getting lunch at Vivocity kopitiam. Then off we went, towards Sentosa Gateway leading into Sentosa. Haven been to Sentosa for at least 10 years I think haha. Couldn't remember much of the previous Sentosa I knew, but I knew it had became a completely new place for me.
May was the bride's maid by the way, and kev was there to help out. Reached Abelle's hotel room at The Sentosa Resort & Spa at around 12pm. Omg, Max, Abelle & Pat's son is sooooo cute.

cute right?? Hehe. Guess I will miss him alot after he goes back to England with his dad & mum. Its wasn't easy being a nanny you know. May & kev was there to help. But strangely, he seems to like me better. So they call me Max's godpa. hehe.
Anyway, I drove Pat & Abelle around the island for their photoshots. I will select a few photos to put up when Abelle sends me.
So what does the Best man have to do in a wedding in the French way? Before Abelle's solemnisation, we had to march in. There were 4 couples in total. 1st couple was May & I, 2nd, Pat & his mum, 3rd, Pat's dad & Abelle's mum, lastly, Abelle & her dad.
May & I was the 1st couple. I was quite nervous actually. dunno about May. Walking the red carpet gave me the feeling like I'am getting married as well. Haha..
Its was a unforgettable experience. Coz who knows I never get to do it again (single all the way).
So happy to see Abelle happily married with such a loving husband, with such a cute son, with a brand new and happy family. Wish Bel & Pat a very very blissful marriage, may they live till the old ripe age together.
That night, Abelle tosed her roses for all the "single" ladies to catch. There is this saying that whoever catch the roses will get married next. and nobody wanted to catch it after Abelle had tosed a few times. In the end, we guys had to help. And so I got the roses for my beautiful bride's maid, May.

May is pretty hor. *shy* ;)

Early knee problem
Yesterday was on leave. Went to GH for follow up medical appointment. Took x-ray before going to the doctor.
Saw a really cool thing. They actually scan the x-rays into the database. So the doctor can just click on his own pc to see the x-rays. Wow, real cool stuff.
Anyway, the doc says I have early knee problem. The medical term of it I forgotten. Anyway, its the wearing off of the cartridge of the knee cap or something like that. So that explains the bone moving feeling on my knee when I bend and straighten my leg.
Oh great. Thats mean I foresee problems with my knee in the next 20-30 years i suppose. Pain and suffering, when the whole cartridge is gone from the knee. Meaning the bones will rub against each other everytime I bend my knee.
Anyway, this week is slightly more relaxed for me. Only work 4 days since yesterday on leave, and I was able to leave office early for my classes. Catch up with my gym sessions as well.
Time really flies. After this month, 1 quarter of the year 2007 gone liao. woot.

Some updates...
Haven been blogging much recently as you can see. This is the 3rd post only since the start of 2007. Mostly because I started my J2EE course and I must say its not easy to study and work at the same time. Really kowtow to those who can tahan for years!!
On the other hand, on the days I have no lessons (tues and thurs), I go gym. Really wear me down man. Then still got projects to do also. Not really easy leh.
Im just wondering if I will be able to survive longer courses anot. Some courses like MBA or MSCE or CCNA. Or should I just live with what I have now?
Seriously, studying when working, many things have to be casted aside. Lucky I don't have gf commitments now. If not I dunno how to balance between work, gf and family leh.
Anyway J2EE's quite interesting I must say. Not as rigid as .NET as least. No wonder more companies go for J2EE instead, coz they can have more choices to choose from in terms of Operation Systems, webhost, database modules.
.NET only can use Windows and IIS.
.NET is easy but its limited to what the .NET framework can do. J2EE is opensourceable and its libraries can be implemented in many ways.
Anyway, these might be too technical for non-IT people. Pardon me, if you fallen asleep. I shall not go on then.
I guess these kind of life will go on until May or June for me, after which I might start looking for new jobs involving J2EE also.
Work load at work also quite high. Got a few deadlines to meet before the end of next week. Think my boss not happy that I left at 5.30 everyday also. But I don't care lah. My offical knock-off time is 5pm leh. I late for half an hour already leh.
Ok lah. I will try to blog more often rather than these long occasional long posts. hehe.
