Dad getting better

Thank god, my dad's getting better. But still in ICU. Still have other problems. Hopefully he can be transferred to a normal ward soon.

SO happy to see him moving his hands and legs around, keep asking the nurses for water. He cant drink alot coz he got some water retention in his body. Moreover with his breathing mask, his mouth must be very dry. So keep asking for water.


Really tired these past few days, but my dad must have felt a lot worse. Hope that he would bear with it and listen to the doctors and nurses and get well soon.

God please help my dad

My life has gone completely upside down now. My dad is in TTSH ICU. don't wish to say more.

I just hope my dad will be fine.

God please give me a chance to take care of my dad, as he has taken care of me for almost 25 years already.

Its really painful to see him like that. So i beg u god, please lend my dad a hand. He has been a great man, a great father to me. He deserve alot better things like this.

Please please god, please bless him to recover too. Thank you god.

Seems like only yesterday that I blogged, but actually 5 days had passed liao. Time really flies.

Yesterday was my colleague, meizhen's last day. She treated our whole department with yummy yummy beard papa's cream puffs from bugis junction. Was quite sad when she was packing her stuff and preparing to leave us for good. Never met such a gentle girl like her before. Talk very softly and never seems to have any temper at all. Sometimes a bit blur blur, so kinda cute. Always wear a smile on her face, really brighten up the office alot. Too bad, she is attached already, if not....

Well, never mind, wish her the very best in whatever she does in future lah.

Boring weekend, coz no programs planned. So most likely stay at home and rot lor. Anyway, got my ICT schedule liao. So got to start searching for my army stuff. Dunno where i threw them. Hope they are still around somewhere haha. Really sianz leh, got to go back for reservist. Short 1 to 2 days ok lah. But this coming one is a High-Key one. Total of 16 days, excluding weekends. 2 weeks plus, dunno what the hell so long for.

Anyway previously I mentioned something about a Java J2EE course that I was interested to attend at NUS. I finally made up my mind and decided to go ahead with it. As a web programmer, .NET and J2EE is the 2 must-have skills. My current job is already giving me more than enough experience in dot net. Now what I need is J2EE. So this course is just what I need. Course duration is 24 lessons. Fee: $4200 excluding GST. Upon completion of the course, can claim 50% of the course fee from CITREP. So 2++K for a profession diploma from NUS. Not a bad deal right. Lessons start from 6.30 to 9.30, 3 times a week. Hope it wont be too tough for me.

Weekly News came late

Alright, my weekly post came late this week. (suppose to post every sat haha). Anyway, had a bz weekend thats why.

Saturday went to one of my ex-unimelb classmate's place to play a very interesting board game call settlers. Interesting, but kinda of expensive to own one though. Dun ask me to explain the game, I am bad at explaining. (lame excuse right, lol)

Then sunday went to JB with my usual group of friends. Shop n eat alot. Damn, I getting fatter each day. Die IPPT coming.....

So as you can see, i wasn't home much for the whole weekend. So short hor weekend, only 2 days. One week got 2 weekends. If you calcuate in this way right, if 7 years has passed, you only have rest days for as much as just 2 years!!! the other 5 x 365 days you are working !!! Damn, thats long... Of coz, no one calculates in this way lah. But if you think of it, after substracting the handful number of public holidays, we are actually working 64% (4.5/7 * 100) of our lifetime.

We work so hard and our health worsen each day. When we retire, we fall ill and got to pay medical bills with the money we earn in the past. In the end, we get nothing. So I suggest we enjoy what we have now, dun work your head off and suffer in the end. Work for yourself, not because you have too. MONEY ISNT EVERTHING AND LIFE ISNT ABOUT MONEY EITHER.

Anyway, last thursay, went to chong qing streamboat @ suntec for a farewell dinner for our dear little colleague, Meizhen. Little because she's the youngest among us, so she like our little sis. Really can't bear to see her go, coz she a really nice girl. She going to further her studies, so wish her all the best in her studies as well as whatever she do.

Wireless disappointment

Due my stupid brother who use my desktop pc all the time, so I have been using my laptop all these times. My laptop is the old type of centrino laptops that uses the 802.11b wireless interface. As my room is quite far from the wireless broadband router which is in the living room, my wireless signal is always very low to good. Although the reception is not really bad, I want it to be better. So yesterday I bought a new wireless card: Dlink DWL-G650 802.11g/2.4Ghz Wireless Cardbus Adapter. The expected result is suppose to be quite good, because the router that I am using is also Dlink. Both using Dlink's Air Plus+ technology.

But actual differs quite a lot from my expectations especially since I have spent quite a bit of money on it. (previously I bought a wireless antenna to booast the signal).

Well, I discover that the problem is because of my room. My laptop is deep in the room, a few metres from the corridor of my main hall. Although wireless signals bounce against walls, but nothing beats have the wireless router in line of sight. The signal strength is almost 100%, a good 98%. So conclusion is: the problem lies with the location of my laptop.

Well nvr mind. ANyway, yesterday bought Jolin's latest album - Dancing Diva. First few songs are not bad. Still listening to it at this moment of time though. Not too bad lah, since I bought it off a stall along bugis street for only 7 bucks. Normal retail stores sell them at 19bucks? Quite a good deal I got anyway, and it looks completely original, just that I think it's imported from china or somewhere else.



Oh, did I mention that I took leave yesterday? That's why I got the time to go some shopping at Sim Lim. Yesterday also help Johnson's gf Edina to fix up a pc. Guess what, only 1.2k bucks only leh. Here roughly the specs- P4 3Ghz cpu, 512 DDR2 RAM, 160Gb hdd, dvd-writer, 1.44 floppy drv, 256mb ddr2 radeon (dunno wad model, forgot), a pair of normal speakers and lastly a Phillips 17" LCD. The LCD only 320 bucks leh. Wow. All specs not too bad right and only for 1.2k. Its soooo cheap. But I dun have space for another pc in my room lah, if not i might consider buying one set of myself also hehe.....

More and more things to handle

One of my colleagues tendered her resignation last week, so this whole week was busy taking lessons from her, in other words I became her under-study in preparation to take over the systems she is currecntly handling.

And on the other hand, my mgr told me to put my current project on hold and focus on taking over my colleague's project and he even told me to set my priorties right. What wrong with continuing with my project anyway, my colleague didnt have time for me all the time what. So it seems like it become my fault that I continue to do my project. What should I do then, just daydream and slack huh. Sometimes dunno what this management people thinking.

Anyway with more things to handle now, then I will have more things to hand over when its my turn to go??? Sometimes I really feel like leaving. Why? My project used to be a 2-person project. After my stupid indo colleague request to change team, now its only me working on it. After putting so much time n effort into it, my mgr keeps saying it can be kiv, can be put aside 1st. Hearing all these, really very sian. Dunno do for what also.

Ok enuff of work stuff.

Recently I happen to find out that NUS actually offers a Professional Diploma for (J2EE/Web Services). Not cheap though, $4.2k for 24 lessons. But I believe the cert will be very useful since the IT trend now is either .NET or J2EEE. However the problem is the next course starts on 3 July, but i got ICT from 29 June to 14 July, which means i will miss a few lessons. DUnno whether I should apply for this course or wait for the next one which is next year...

hmm.. got to wait for my ICT training program to come out 1st. I called my NS clerk and he told me mostly likely the scedule will be out next week.

So anyone interested in taking the course as well? Then perhaps we can take the course together =)

Saturday Weekly

This blog has become some sort of a weekly newsletter, coz I mostly post a new post on sat.

Ok, so last week was about a quiz. Looks like only 1 person visited my blog for the entire week, my dear buddy ting.

So what should I say this week? Should I talk about work 1st? Ok work I will talk about 1st.

This week, my indo colleague went on block leave. So all those inward cheque clearing I got to monitor for him. Guess what, Monday morning already hit problem. Then Thursday again. Monday problem was a program bug, expected coz its his program. Thursday was an unexplained problem. Duno what the cause also. Anyway, Thursday, there was an implementation, so I was working on it the whole week also. So I didnt spend much time on my usual work. Jialat, got to go for my ICT soon, still got so many things haven do.

Another thing is that Head Office want to ask 2 programmers to go to Vietam to help out the Vietnam branch for 2-3 mths. My mgr actually wanted me to go with my AM. Siao leh, die die i also dunwan go. Firstly i got ICT coming, 2ndly, for 2-3 mths leh. So long... Dunwan lah.

Quite a hectic week, must also good lah. Time pass faster when one is busier.


About the quiz last week, the person was actually one of my closest friend. Well, I decided to give up on that person. Dun ask me why, coz I dun really want to say all over again. Lets c hw long this will go on.

A Quiz

I going to give a few description of a person. If you know the answer,please post at my tag board. Thanks.

Question is: Is he/she a he or a she?

Descriptions start:
1) Remember all the things people say, especially things said about him/her. Note: good and bad things are the same, because things that normal people thinks is nothing, he/she thinks is an insult.

2) Angry and pissed off over the slightest things people say, for example: How come you are so thin? How come u are so black? How come u still studying?. Some of this are actually casual remarks or jokes. Petty. Ok this is quite close to description 1.

3) If he/she is unhappy, he/she expected someone to call to ask how's he/she is doing. Note: we do not know he/she is unhappy in the 1st place.

4) Thinks him/her-self is very smart, smarter than normal people. So smart that can grade people's intell. give himself/herself 4 out of 5. others not even 1. sooo clever hor.

5) Thinks nobody in the world understands him/her, and that everybody got somthing againts him/her, be it friends, parents or strangers.

6) Very boastful, thinks and assumes he/she knows everything about everybody. SO smart hor.

7) When talking about anything, be it casual talk or discussion, he/she got to win no matter what. If not he/she will just say, "ok lor, its all my fault, i know". Note: only he/she can be the right one. the rest all wrong. and only he/she can talk and insult people, others cannot. if others do that, he/she will be so pissed.

8) Has a bf/gf, but treats him/her the same way as others. becoz of small things, just ignore him/her for weeks: no replying sms, no calling, no anything. Note: The bf/gf does not know what happen in the 1st place. Record time was 1 month plus, until the bf/gf contact him/her 1st. Note: its the bf/gf who make the 1st move - even though he/she didnt seems to have done something so terrible to deserve this kind of treatment. Where the hell you find such a person?

9) With description 8 in mind, when people ask about his/her bf/gf, he/she doesnt hestiate to show couple foto. Means he/she thinks he/she still got the bf/gf which he/she already been casted aside all these time.

10) This guy/girl has 2 great friends(buddies) of almost 12years. Soon he/she will have none. Why? because description 1-7 was how he/she treated those 2 good friends. His/her bf/gf was also the 2 good friends's good friend. So having seen the bf/gf been treated by someone who used to be their best friends plus having said descriptions 1 to 9, how would you think their friendship will become?

11) Ok the list of descriptions actually goes on, but too long i think. So in summary, this boastful, petty, "smart", selfish, stupid bastard/bitch. Do u think he/she is a guy or girl?

12) Oh,i just want to add this last point. He/she is currently studying. but failed to complete. why? because he/she thinks he/she is too smart. "No need study lah, from sec sch til nw you got see i study before meh?" When he/she failed the exams, he/she will be so pissed, often with others also, including the poor bf/gf. then will start saying, "No point in life, i already know i will be a CPA in the future, there no point doing all these". In summary, he/she has great goals, but he/she nvr put any effort to try and say no point and get so pissed, causing he/she to have PMS 365 days a year. Talk only and no action. Smart? my foot man.


Note: When considerating this points, bear in mind all these descriptions are not made based on one person's views but a lot of people's and its not said out of anger based on just one side of the story but many more sides and lastly, its a true story.

PAP won...

Alright, PAP won in my area again. Hope Mr Ong Ah Heng keeps his promises about lift-upgrading, although that's not really impt to me. But at least, something is done better than nothing.

Once again, WP Mr Low and SDA Mr Chiam won their Hougang and "Poto Pasir" area again. This shows that just by saying "we will promise XXX millions to upgrade the area" is not the most impt thing the residents want. Its what the MPs have done in the past and agree to do in the future that matters. If a person is worth supporting, its worth supporting him/her well. Well done residents of those 2 areas.

I keep saying areas because I dunno how to spell that con-di-gen-cy or something. Anyway area means the same lah. haha

The results also proves that our SM, Mr Goh was wrong about Mr Chiam. Being old does not means he too old to be a MP. So long he still does his job well. Our MM is old liao also wad. Having opposition in the government is very impt as we need an alternative views in "parament". If not, the PAP can jolly well pass a rule themselves without even seeking anyone's opinion.

Not that I say PAP is no good. But this GE 2006 has proven that the majority support for PAP has decreased. So why is it the case? This is something for our dear MM, SM, PM, and all the Ms to find out what they have done wrong.

If you have not been to a WP rally, especially the one at Hougang, you wouldnt believe how many people actually turn up. So many people leh. Can be counted in thousands. But still PAP still holds the majority votes. I guess the reason is because the oppositions rallies are more fun to watch and listen since PAP people always say the same thing they say all the time. But people still vote PAP lah.

I wont say who I vote for, since it suppose to be a secret. I hope PAP will make Singapore a better place for all of us and not just PAY n PAY.

Happy mayday every1. Its wu yue tian aka labour day. good day to stay home n rest.

this mth not bad. got another PH next friday, vesak day. So at least not so sian lah, got long weekend again.

just went to cut my hair just nw. tried out one new hairstyle but need some effort in creating the style each time lah. but hor, as you know i a very lazy person. So i doubt it will look impressive lah. but hack care lah, so long its different from my usual hairstyle can liao lah.

damn, i hate my naturally curled hair. just nw the hairstylist say she cut my hair in the way in which my hair wont grow too curly when it gets longer. hope so her words are true.

Just now I did what i do every 1st day of the mth - calcuating how much I have spent last mth and how much i saved. Darn! Spend too much last mth. Lucky got the 700 bucks, but still, got to cut down on my expenses liao. Especially on days like yesterday. Went to Party World ktv two times in a day. Once in the afternoon at Chinatown branch and one in the evening at yishun safra branch. I spend 8 hours sitting in the KTV!! That's one record. Well, that also reflect how much i spend lah. Wah, cannot like that man. I spending more than I earn it seems.
